Berlin, Irving

(1888-1989), American composer, born in Russia, his family emigrated to New York in 1893, he worked as a street singer and singing waiter in Chinatown, hired as a lyricist by Snyder Publishing in 1919, he formed his own publishing company in 1919 and the Music Box Theater in 1921. He composed about 1500 songs, some of them appeared in Broadway musicals. His most popular songs are: "God Bless America", "There's No Business Like Show Business", "White Christmas".
