Lekeu, Guillaume

(1870-1894), Belgian composer, took his first lessons at the conservatory in Verviers, belgium. At the age of 15m he composed his first piece. In 1888, he moved to Paris and studied with Cesar Franck and D'Indy, in 1891, he won the 2nd place of Prix de Rome. he composed about 50 pieces of music during his short life of 24 years. Only his violin sonata is popular today.
