Lehar, Franz

(1870-1948), Hungarian conductor/composer, studied at the Prague Conservatory, leading military band in Poland, Budapest, and Vienna.
He composed operettas, his "The Merry Widow" , 1905, brought a world wide fame. His music is a perfect reflection of the gaiety and frivolity characterizing Vienna of the time.
