Kuula, Toivo

(1883-1918), Finnish composer/conductor, studied at the Helsinki Music Institute, and then in Bologna, Leipzig, Paris, and Berlin, conducted in Vaasa, Oulu, Halsinki, and Viipuri, his compositions reveal his indebtedness to Finnish folk song in addition to a few impressionist elements. His works included orchestral music, choral music, and songs.
