Khachaturian, Aram

(1903-1978), Armenian composer, studied at the Gnesin Music Academy in Moscow, then entered Moscow Conservatory. later taught at both schools, one of the prominent Soviet composers(20th century), along with Prokofiev and Shostakovich. He composed 3 symphonies, symphonic poems, ballet music, concertos(piano, violin), chamber music etc.
