Herbert, Victor


(1859-1924), American composer, conductor and cellist, born in Ireland, he was raised in Stuttgart, and studied music there, in 1886 he moved to New York and made a career as a cellist at the New York Philharmonic, later served as a conductor of Pittsburgh Symphony.
He composed over 40 operettas, two cello concertos, and chmaber music.
