Dvorak, Antonin

(1841-1904), Czech composer, one of the most eminent Bohemian composers, studied at the Prague Conservatory, played violin in the local orchestras, or restaurants and in the dances. served as the dirctor of National Conservatory in New York, and later director of the Prague Conservatory. He composed 9 symphonies, 11 operas, concertos(violin, cello), 14 string quartets, symphonic poems, slavic dances, chamber music etc.
