Mendelssohn, Felix


(1809-1847), German composer, he entered the Singakademie and began to compose, later studied at the Berlin University, traveled widely touring Italy, England, Weimar, Munich, Salzburg, and Vienna, became conductor of the Gewandhaus Orchestra of Leipzig. He composed 5 symphonies, 3 oratorios, 13 strin symphonies, overtures, 1 violin concerto, 3 piano concertos, and chamber music.
