(1873-1943), Russian composer, pianist and conductor, he had lesson from his mother, then studied at the St. Petersberg and the Moscow conservatories, began conducting in Russia in 1891, then in London. In 1904 appointed as a conductor of Bolshoi. In 1917 he left Russia due to the Revolution, never return, settled in US and toured as a piano virtuoso throughout US and Europe. He composed symphonies, syphonic poems, 3 paino concertos etc.
